Researching the conventions of magazine adverts

The conventions of these adverts include:

  • The brand image of the artist at the front to sell the album, for each artist the picture varies like Jessie J has a close up shot of her face which illustrates her fierce identity, where as Katy Perry has a more feminie and girly stance to show her bright identity.
  • The colour schemes associated with the brand image of the album itself ie. dark, neutral or bright and bold colours.
  • The logo and special font used, either clear and bold or italic.
  • Release date
  • Availability in stores or iTunes
  • The price
  • The record label is significant as it gives the audience an idea of what genre music they belong to.
  • The A4 size adverts consist of the title and artist's special pose.
The purpose of magazine adverts are to promote the artist and to sell their song, making them more popular in the music industry.
